Where and when are the competitions?

There are many different organizations that sponsor cheerleading competitions. The team's coaches will make decisions about competitions, and will consider such things as team readiness, skill level, the ability to qualify for nationals, and cost.

Most teams compete five to six times prior to nationals at local and regional competitions.

How many hours a week do they practice?

Tiny Cheer
5 yrs & younger
2 hours per week

Mini Cheer

8 yrs & younger

2.5 hrs per week

Mini Dance
8 yrs & younger
1 hr per week

Youth Cheer

11 yrs & younger

2.5 hrs per week

Youth Dance
11 yrs & younger
1 hr per week

Jr. Cheer

14 yrs & younger

3.5 hrs per week

Jr. Dance
14 yrs & younger
1 hr per week
Sr. Cheer
18 yrs & younger
3.5 hrs per week
Sr. Dance
18 yrs & younger
1 hr per week
Sr. Open Cheer
18 yrs & younger
4 hrs per month
Season runs May 1- April 30

 

The actual practice days and times will be determined at the first parents meeting and practice session.

In the months preceding nationals, additional practice sessions may be scheduled at the discretion of the coaches.
